Jerusalem, undefined:
The Israeli military released security camera footage on Sunday showing hostages being taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City after they were kidnapped during the October 7 Hamas attacks on southern Israel.
In one clip, a man is brought in on a stretcher by several people, at least four of whom are armed, while in another a person struggles to resist as he is forcibly dragged into a building that resembles a hospital.
AFP could not immediately verify the images.
“Here you can see Hamas taking a hostage inside… they take him to the hospital,” military spokesman Daniel Hagari told a briefing, adding that the male hostages were from Nepal and Thailand.
“We have not yet located both hostages,” he added. “We don’t know where they are.”
According to Israeli authorities, the footage appears to be timestamped as of October 7, 2023, the day Hamas fighters stormed into southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping about 240 others.
“These findings prove that the terrorist organization Hamas used the Shifa hospital complex as a terrorist infrastructure on the day of the massacre,” the military and intelligence services said in a statement.
Since October 7, Israel has ruthlessly bombarded Gaza from the air, land and sea, with officials in the Hamas-held area saying at least 13,000 people have been killed, mostly civilians.
