Men in suits and ties attack each other like crazy. They hit, kick, push and jostle. All this took place in the Maldivian Parliament, where an important vote on the parliamentary approval of the Mohamed Muizzu government was scheduled for today.
In one of the videos, now widely circulating on the internet, an MP is seen holding the leg of a fellow MP and the two are trapped together.
One of them then comes back and puts his knee on the other and he is seen pulling his hair and showing another clip. The footage also shows other members trying to push the MP away.
The two men seen in the melee are Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) MP Isa and ruling PNC MP Abdullah Shaheem Abdul Hakeem.
In another video, the MP is seen blowing a horn into the ear of the speaker, who tries to block the sound by putting his hands to his ear.
According to reports, several members of the ruling party barricaded the House and disrupted the session.
