Veteran American singer Cyndi Lauper and actor David Thornton's son Declyn “Dex” Lauper were arrested on Wednesday for weapons possession.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) found Mr. Lauper near a crime scene in Harlem, the New York Post reported.
The report added that police were investigating a shooting that injured a 24-year-old man. He was shot in the leg. The incident took place in the evening.
At the time of his arrest, Mr. Lauper had a gun and drugs, the report quoted law enforcement sources as saying.
An ABC report added that no charges have been filed against Mr Lauper. The police are currently investigating the case.
Police have now identified the shooting victim as Omar Lewis, the report said. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital by first responders.
Police charged Mr. Lewis with criminal possession of a weapon, the report said.
Meanwhile, Declyn “Dex” Lauper is known for his hit songs. In 2019, his collaboration with American rapper G-Eazy turned quite a few heads. They worked on the railway CHILDREN.
