NEW DELHI: Social media platform X’s head of policy for India and South Asia, Samiran Gupta resigned on Saturday, sources told Reuters.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Gupta held the top position for X, formerly known as Tweetin India.
He was tasked with overseeing critical substantive policy issues and advocating for Twitter’s position in light of emerging policy changes, as well as providing support to the local sales team.

He became part of the company in February 2022, just eight months before Musk completed his acquisition of Twitter Inc. completed for $44 billion.
According to one source, there are about 15X employees in roles related to compliance and engineering in India. However, Gupta was the sole executive responsible for liaison with the government and political parties.
