The reinstated Pakistan T20I Babar Azam is currently preparing for the side's tours of Ireland and England before they leave for the 2024 T20 World Cup. In the marquee event, Babar Azam-led Pakistan have been placed in a group with India and three cricket minnows: USA, Ireland and Canada. Babar Azam was removed from captaincy after Pakistan's poor performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
This time, the PCB has shown faith in Babar Azam to lead the side to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
However, ahead of the event, former Pakistan cricket team star Basit Ali had a strange challenge for Babar Azam. He was probably referring to Babar's low success rate. In T20Is, his strike rate is 129.41.
“If Babar Azam hits three consecutive sixes against top teams, and not against teams like USA and Thailand, I will shut down the YouTube channel. If he takes up this challenge, he should accept it. If he cannot open the innings, he should he do that.” not open in the T20 World Cup,” Basit Ali said in a video

Pakistan captain Babar Azam recently said that the team will plan their tactics against Indian star Virat Kohli for the exciting clash with Men in Blue in the ICC T20 World Cup in West Indies/USA this year.
In the last T20 Cup match between these two sides in 2022, Virat played one of the most iconic knocks in the format, scoring 82* in just 53 balls, with six fours and four sixes during a thrilling chase of 160 runs when India were at at some point 4/31.
Speaking at the media conference on Monday, Babar said that while the team has no plans against any particular player, they will make plans against Virat, who he called 'one of the best players'.
“As a team you always plan against different teams and based on their strengths. We don't plan against one player. We plan for all eleven players. We don't know much about the conditions in New York and we will plan accordingly. He [Virat Kohli] is one of the best players and we will plan against him too,” he said.
