Skipper Faf du Plessis has been a mainstay of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s batting in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and has played some fantastic innings to take the team to victory. In RCB Bold Diaries, the Orange Cap holder talked about his change in hitting style and how it helped the team to get good results in the tournament. Playing boldly in IPL 2023, Faf du Plessis has scored 511 runs in 10 matches so far with a strike rate of 157.71 and aims to be more aggressive with his bat in the remaining matches to take the team to the playoffs.
He focused on playing with a higher success rate early in the tournament and now wants to play big innings for RCB as well.
“I’ve been very conscious about trying to get hundreds, find gears that I can work through mid innings and try to get innings if we can get 75 plus,” Faf du Plessis said during RCB Bold Diaries.
The captain always had an incredible attack which has proven to be very crucial for RCB in the tournament. However, now he has stepped it up a notch in terms of switching during the innings and hitting more boundaries which has also contributed to his increased success rate.
“In the past I always felt like I was playing a decent attacking game, but I felt like there was a different gear in terms of increasing your attack percentage from a minimum of 130 to 150 and then sometimes 160-170, so there’s But it’s also important for me to try to play as much cricket as possible, just to try and keep up with my game,” concludes Faf Du Plessis.
Faf du Plessis will lead the team at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday and will be looking for another victory in the tournament.
