Biopics of Indian cricketers have often generated great interest among the public. Be it “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story” or “83” or “Shabaash Mithu”, when the lives of cricketers are shown on the big screen, more often than not fans are in for a treat. Apart from the biopics of Dhoni, Mithali Raj and Kapil Dev, several other sports biopics are about to be released. Virat Kohli’s wife and actor Anushka Sharma plays India pacer Jhulan Goswami in her biopic. However, one legendary cricketer whose biopic has not yet been announced is Yuvraj Singh.
The hero of Indian victories at the 2007 T20 World CUp and the 2011 ODI World Cup is one of the most celebrated cricketers of all time. Now Guneet Monga, the producer of the 2023 Academy Award-winning documentary short film The Elephant Whisperers, has said a movie about Yuvraj is in the works.
“I would like to meet Sachin Tendulkar, but I think there is a Yuvraj Singh movie coming up,” Guneet Monga said in a video posted on IPL’s social media accounts. She recently attended an IPL match.

She was also asked about the one cricketer who has the features of an elephant, Monga replied, “Yuvraj Singh. I like Yuvi. I think about his spirit, his rawness. The way you see the person, the way you see his experience is there is no handhold blocked. It is precious.”
When asked if she would make a documentary about cricket, Monga said, “I was part of the Sachin documentary in a way. I supported it. There’s a fictional story I have in mind. I’m not going to tell you the details good telling now. But there is definitely a story around cricket. It will be a dream to put together.
