The debate over strike rates in T20 cricket has only intensified with the advent of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, etc. are some of the players whose strike rates have been subjected to scrutiny by experts this season. Sanju Samson, one of the most in-form players this campaign, admitted that there is no place for the patient approach in T20 cricket. In a candid chat with the IPL 2024 broadcaster, the Rajasthan Royals skipper admitted that it is difficult for batters to bat only in phases when it comes to the shortest format of the game.
“20 over ka game hai (it's a 20-over game). Each over is five percent of the game. So you can't say ke bhai mere ko pleasure hone ke liye time chahiye (I need time to unwind ), I will go for sixes after reaching 10 runs, I will not hit this bowler, I will hit towards the end,” he said in the video.
Shine inwards #IPL is not easy. But we have #SanjuSamson who shares his secret to success!

Samson was banking on his IPL form to secure a place in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup taking place next month. The wicketkeeper-batsman was blunt in his judgment when it came to approach and intention talk in T20 cricket. For him, the batters have to push the boundaries straight from the star.
“There is only one intention in this format: you just have to go out and push boundaries. You have to show that intention, you have to look for those sixes. You have to fulfill that impact role as quickly as possible,” Samson added . .
“There is no individual pattern of scoring runs in this format. I think there is only one way: you are going to dominate. If you don't dominate, you expect yourself to come out and expect your teammates to dominate. But if If you don't dominate everyone, we lose the game. So there is no second gear.
