On the eve of the much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan, Asia Cup 2023, captain Babar Azam said he has “learned a lot from Virat Kohli”. Notably, both batters are often compared to each other for their batting ability. However, both share a mutual respect for each other both on and off the field. Last month, Virat admitted that he has always had great respect and respect for the best ODI batsman.
“The debate that is going on should be left to them. I don’t want to comment on it. Everyone has their point of view. There must be mutual respect. I was taught to respect our seniors. I have done that.” I learned a lot from him. I have told in many interviews that I talked to him in 2019 and he helped me a lot. He’s been helpful,” Babar said at the pre-match conference.
Babar went on to talk about how demanding the Asia Cup has been and their efforts to find the perfect balance in the squad ahead of the highly anticipated World Cup.
“We cannot say that the Asia Cup is a small tournament and that the best teams in Asia and the best players are also playing. At no point can you take it easy. The preparation is definitely for the World Cup, but our current De focus is on the Asia Cup,” added Babar.
“We are not relaxed at any point, we try to go the best anyway, we try to focus on the cricket ahead of us. We try different combinations and we try to give our balanced side the most number of chances before the great event,” concluded Babar.
Both teams will face each other at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
