Star Indian batter Virat Kohli will become the first Indian to play 100 international games in all formats in international cricket when he takes on the field against Pakistan in the Asian Cup on Sunday night. In fact, only New Zealander Ross Taylor has accomplished this feat for him. Ahead of Kohli’s landmark match, Vice Captain KL Rahul of India spoke about the battle icon and his legacy and said the former skipper is the reason the team is where it is today.
“He is the first Indian to do this, he has clearly been our leader for a long time and he has led this young Indian team to where we are today and made us realize that we can always push the boundaries, push the barrier and try to be.” better in terms of skill,” Rahul told Star Sports ahead of the India-Pakistan Asian Cup game.
Kohli is returning to cricket action after a month-long sabbatical in which he missed a limited tour of the West Indies and an ODI series in Zimbabwe.
Kohli will be looking for form and place an extended lean spot behind him in the Asian Cup.

Kohli is set to play his 100th T20I, has 102 Test caps and has played 262 ODIs since making his international debut in a 50-over match against Sri Lanka in 2008.
The Indian team management is counting on him to have a good Asia Cup campaign and go into the 2022 T20 World Cup with some momentum behind him.
