Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants took to social media to react to their captain KL Rahul missing out on selection for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup. Rahul was not included in the 15-man squad nor in the reserves with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) opting for two specialist wicketkeepers: Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant. LSG posted a photo of Rahul on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Our number 1 since Day Zero”.

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian cricket team in the 2024 T20 World Cup, with all-rounder Hardik Pandya as vice-captain. Hardik did not have good form in the IPL 2024 but he was picked as a middle-order batsman and also a fast bowler.
As a result, India opted for just three specialist pacers – Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh – while the duo of Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed found a place in the reserves.
Veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will make a huge comeback to the team after a good show in the IPL 2024 and will reshape the famous 'Kul-Cha' partnership with Kuldeep Yadav.
The two all-rounders are Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, who will add solidity to the batting order and will also be valuable left-arm off-spin bowlers for the Indian cricket team.
Speculations still remain over Virat Kohli possibly opening the batting with Rohit Sharma, with BCCI opting for just one more opener in the 15-member squad: Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The Indian squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup:Rohit Sharma (C), Hardik Pandya (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah .
Reservations:Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan
