Narayan Jagadeesan powered his way to an unbeaten 245 as he propelled the Tamil Nadu team to a commendable first-innings score against Railways on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Group C match. Jagadeesan resumed the day at 286 for five and added another 45 to pick up his maiden first-class double ton. He got decent support from the other side and added another 45 before eventually running out of partners. For Railways, Akash Pandey took three while batting to end the day at 126 for two, while Pratham Singh was currently batting on 76. Openers Shivam Chaudhary (16) and Vivek Singh (11) have been dismissed for Railways , with Sandeep Warrier bowling them over in both cases.
In another Group C in Mysore, hundreds from Mayank Agarwal (114) and Devdutt Padikkal (101) took Karnataka to 251 for 4.
Karnataka managed to end Day 2 at 251 for four, trailing by 70 runs, with Goa's Darshan Misal and Mohit Redkar holding on to two wickets each.
Earlier, Karnataka bowled out Goa for 321. The visitors started the day at 228 for eight with Arjun Tendulkar (53) being their last man to be dismissed while Snehal Kauthankar (83) was their top scorer.
Vijaykumar Vyshak, M Venkatesh and Rohit Kumar got three wickets each for Karnataka.
In Chandigarh's Group C encounter, Gujarat ended Day 2 at 86 for two against Chandigarh after play on the opening day was called off due to poor lighting.
With the hosts opting to step up, Gujarat reeled at 19 for two as Jagjit Singh dismissed both openers Priyank Panchal (5) and Urvil Patel (14).
Also, in Mohali's Group C match Day 2, Punjab finished at 78 for seven against Tripura after play on Day 1 was suspended due to poor visibility. Since the visitors chose to go to the field, this turned out to be the right decision.
So far, Punjab opener Prabhsimran Singh (21) and Nehal Wadhera (33) are the only two boys to reach double figures, while for Tripura Manisankar Murasingh and Rana Dutta have captured two wickets each.
