Sam Billings in action during ILT20©Twitter
England wicketkeeper Sam Billings delivered a stunning stretch of run-out reminiscent of MS Dhoni in an ILT20 encounter. Joe Denly made a effortless defense of a pitch off Benny Howell, but in the aftermath of playing the shot, he stepped outside his crease in anticipation of a single. Billings had the ball at hand in a flash and a deft back move resulted in a beautiful run-out in the game. It was an extremely close affair, but the TV replays showed just how good the effort was.

There was slight confusion among commentators about whether the firing will be considered a run-out or a stumping. It was ultimately ruled a run-out according to the on-air experts, as Denly showed his intent to run and therefore stepped forward.
The attempt sparked comparisons to former Indian cricket team skipper MS Dhoni, who was known for his backhand flicks that produced some of the best run-outs of all time.
The run out proved to be a key moment in the game as Billings’ Desert Vipers defeated Sharjah Warriors by 22 points. Desert Vipers batted first in the T20 encounter and posted a competitive total of 148, with Billings coming in with a 23-ball-27 on a tricky wicket.
In response, Sharjah Warriors got off to a good start and after eight overs were comfortably placed on 50 for the loss of two wickets. However, they keep losing wickets from that crucial moment and with the asking price never dropping, they ended the innings at 126 for 8.
