The Virat Kohli-led Indian red-ball team headed to South Africa on December 26 to face the Proteas in the three-game Test series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared photos of the Indian test team’s departure on Thursday. “All tied up. South Africa tied,” BCCI tweeted. “Will miss his abilities very much. He has already proven in England that he really worked out his test game, and the opening partnership was very important for us to play in that series. Obviously we will miss those qualities with his experience and skill Virat Kohli said during a virtual conference.
“That said, it’s an opportunity for Mayank [Agarwal] and KL [Rahul] to strengthen and solidify that start for us and to ensure that the good work in this series continues,” he added.
