The Indian stock market will remain closed on Tuesday (November 14) for Diwali Balipratipada. According to the list of stock market holidays in 2023 available on the stock exchanges, the market will remain closed today.
Accordingly, all segments including equity segment, derivatives segment and SLB segment will be closed.
The multi-commodity fair will also be closed for the first half, but will remain open for the evening session from 5 p.m. Trade deals will also be concluded on Tuesday.
The settlement exemption means that investors’ commodity account balances on November 14 will not include credits from gains on trades or positions in commodity derivatives on November 13 and credits from exiting option positions on November 13.
The money withdrawn on November 14 will be processed on November 15 and investors will receive the money on November 16.
Similarly, profits and credits received on November 13 from trades or exits from positions in the derivatives segment (F&O and CDS) will be available for withdrawal on November 15.
Throughout the calendar year, stock markets will have fifteen annual holidays in 2023, two more than last year.
Today is the first festival day for the markets in November and another one will take place on the 27th of this month on account of Gurunanak Jayanti. The coming month of December, the market will remain closed on the 25th due to Christmas.
During a special one-hour Muhurat trading session on Sunday (November 12), which marked the beginning of Samvat 2080, both Indian benchmark indices posted gains in trading. The Nifty 50 closed 100 points or 0.52% higher at 19,525.55, while the Sensex ended at 65,259.45, up 355 points or 0.55%.
