As many as 65 new cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed in Noida in the past 24 hours. Among those infected are 19 students under the age of 18. Up to now 100 children have been affected by corona in the district.
Students from DPS, Sector 30, DPS Sector 132, Kothari School, Khaitan Public School Peacock School and Step by Step School are also infected with the corona virus. The total number of corona infections in the district came to 332.
The number of students who become Covid-19 positive is increasing. What many experts argue could be the start of the fourth wave, coronavirus cases have steadily risen and there has been an increase in cases seen in children. Since schools opened after one of the world’s largest personal class closures, children are moving out of the house after two years.
While going to school fills learning gaps and improves children’s mental health, it has also led to the number of Covid-19 cases among children under 18.
The rise in the number of coronavirus cases among children has reignited the debate over closing schools. Academics suggest schools should remain open to ensure there is no learning gap, but they have also expressed concerns about student health. The national government has made face masks mandatory in schools and has asked schools to close specific wings of schools if Covid-19 is discovered.
Delhi’s deputy CM and Education Minister Manish Sisodia has also previously said that “we have to learn to live with the coronavirus”.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also made face masks mandatory in districts bordering the NCR region, as well as in public places in Lucknow. At present, the total number of active cases in the state is 695. In the last 24 hours, 65 new positive patients have been confirmed in Gautam Budh Nagar, 20 in Ghaziabad and 10 in Lucknow.
