CBSE students who will appear for the board exams in 2024 can download the sample questions and marking scheme from cbseacademic.nic.in
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the class 10 and 12 board exams from February 15, 2024. As the board previously announced, these final exams are expected to be completed by April 10, 2024. The detailed schedules of CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams are awaited. CBSE recently released the sample question papers as well as marking schemes for both the Class 10 and 12 exams. Students who are going to appear for the board exam next year can download the sample questions and marking scheme from cbseacademic.nic.in.
CBSE Class 10 Social Science Sample Paper and Marking Scheme
–– The total time allotted for the exam is 3 hours and the maximum mark is 80.
–– The sample question paper contains six sections: A, B, C, D, E and F. There are a total of 37 questions and all questions are compulsory.
–– Section A (Questions 1 to 20) contains Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of one mark each.
–– Part B (questions 21 to 24) are very short answer type questions. These questions are worth two points each and the answers to these questions may not be longer than 40 words.
–– Part C (Questions 25 to 29) also contains short answer type questions. They each receive three points and the answer must not be longer than 60 words.
–– Part D (containing questions 30 to 33) contains long answer type questions, each carrying 5 marks. The answer to these questions should not be longer than 120 words.
–– Part E (questions 34 to 36) are case-based questions. This part consists of three sub-questions and each receives four points. In addition, the answer to these questions should not exceed 100 words.
–– Part F (question number 37) is the card-based question. It consists of two parts: 37a from History (two points) and 37b from Geography (three points).
CBSE Class 12 Geography Sample Paper and Marking Scheme
–– Students are given three hours to complete the CBSE Class 12 Geography Theory paper, with a maximum mark limit of 70.
–– The Geography theory piece contains 30 questions and all questions are compulsory. Moreover, it will be divided into five sections: A, B, C, D and E.
–– Part A (question number 1 to 17) are multiple choice questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each.
–– Part B (question numbers 18 and 19) consists of source questions worth 3 points each.
–– Part C (question number 20 to 23) are short answer type questions, each carrying 3 marks. Students must write these answers in 80 to 100 words.
–– Part D (question numbers 24 to 28) consists of long answer type questions, each carrying 5 marks. Meanwhile, the answers should be written in 120 to 150 words.
–– Part E (question number 29 and 30) are card-based questions.
