CBSE Boards 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has set specific guidelines for students and parents to adhere to during exams. Recognizing that exam periods are often stressful for adolescents, CBSE suggests that implementing these strategies can help students optimize their performance during exams.
Do's for students
1. Understand your ability to concentrate and incorporate breaks into your study routine.
2. Determine the optimal time for focused study sessions.
3. Consider group study sessions to tackle challenging topics.
4. Stay motivated and don't be discouraged by past results; instead, identify areas for improvement.
5. Develop a comprehensive time management strategy that covers all topics.
6. Review and reinforce the material learned regularly to help you remember it better during exams.
7. Create a revision schedule that includes relaxation activities such as playing, walking, and watching TV.
Do's and don'ts for parents
1. Guide your child in planning, organizing and creating a timetable to manage exam stress effectively.
2. Provide the right motivation and create a supportive environment to prevent stress for your child.
3. Boost your child's self-confidence, especially if he or she feels discouraged by their academic performance.
4. Offer praise and positive reinforcement for your child's achievements instead of focusing on the shortcomings.
5. Use humor to relieve tension and create a lighter atmosphere during stressful times.
6. Promote open communication with your child, encouraging him to share his problems and actively participate in finding solutions together.
The CBSE board exam for the year 2024 started on February 15. The Class 10 exams are scheduled from February 15 to March 13, while the Class 12 exams will be held from February 15 to April 2.
More than 39 lakh students from 26 countries, both within and outside India, are expected to appear for the exams. The exams start at 10:30am each day, with most papers ending at 1:30pm, although some end at 12:30pm.
However, it is recommended that students reach their respective exam centers at least 30 to 45 minutes before the starting time.
