All government and private schools in Haryana will remain closed on Saturday, October 21, the Directorate of School Education has announced. The schools are closed due to the HSSC Group D exam taking place on that day. Schools can schedule classes on any other public holiday if necessary, the department added.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Haryana Staff Service Commission Central Eligibility Test (HSSC CET) for the recruitment of Group D posts. The exam will be held on October 21 and 22 in two shifts: the morning shift from 10 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and the second shift from 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The CET exam is conducted for the recruitment of persons for the Group C posts in the state. It is a qualifying exam and the candidates who pass the exams are considered eligible to appear for the CET interviews.
On micro-blogging site The Directorate of School Education has issued instructions in this regard.” The notice further added that staff members who are not deputed for the examination duty will not be allowed to enter the examination centres, taking into account the sensitivity of the examination.

The HSSC Group D exam 2023 will be conducted offline and will consist of 100 questions, each worth one mark. Questions in the exams The General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Skills, English and Hindi sections of Part A count for 75 percent of the total score. The remaining 25 percent of marks fall under Part B, which covers the history, current events, literature, geography, environment and culture of Haryana. The questions in the exam are of Class 10 level.
