IIT Jodhpur is accepting applications for its PhD program until October 20. Interested candidates can apply for the PhD courses at iitj.ac.in
IIT Jodhpur has started online application for its various PhD programs from January 2024. The institute will accept applications until October 20. Interested candidates can apply for the PhD courses at iitj.ac.in. Admission to the PhD programs offered by IIT Jodhpur is based on written tests and/or interviews.
According to the official press release, applications are invited from the following departments or schools or centers of IIT Jodhpur: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Bioscience and Bioengineering, Center for Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering , Electrical Engineering, Liberal Arts, Mathematics, Management and Entrepreneurship, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Science, and Physics.
In addition, applications are also invited in the following interdisciplinary areas: Digital Humanities, Internet of Things and Applications, Quantum Information and Computation, Robotics and Mobility Systems, Smart Healthcare and Space Science and Technologies.

IIT Jodhpur PhD Programs: Who Can Apply?
The applicant must have a master’s degree in engineering, pharmacy, agricultural sciences, sciences, humanities, social sciences or management with at least 60 percent marks or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA for the categories of GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC. In the case of candidates from SC, ST and PD categories, they must have scored at least 55 percent.
The BTech graduates from Centrally Funded Engineering Institutions (CFTI) with a CGPA of 8.0 and above are eligible to apply for all PhD courses at IIT Jodhpur without writing the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE). However, students with a CGPA lower than 8.0 will have to write the GATE to be eligible, the institute said.
PhD programs are available in the following categories: Regular with Institute Assistantship, Individual Fellowship (i.e. CSIR, UGC, DBT, ICMR, INSPIRE etc.), Sponsored, Working Professionals, Part-time, Part-time (Online), Indian Nationals working in staying abroad (INRA) and foreigners.
Regular PhD students are eligible for Research Assistantship (RA) and Teaching Assistantship (TA) [Financial support as per Ministry of Education norm]. The institute also provides financial support to present research work at international and national conferences. Currently, the institute has over 4500 students enrolled in various UG, PG and PhD programs.
