Union Minister Subhas Sarkar said the National Education Policy 2020 will attract international students to make India a global hub and give autonomy to the faculty.

Sarkar, the Union Minister of State for Education, said this during a speech at the Indian Chamber of Commerce’s 5th Globalized Education Forum, where he touched on the topic of “Rethinking the Idea of Internationalization – From Global to Local”. “Our mission is to make India a superpower in the education sector as the country has formulated a multi-disciplinary education system with the internationally relevant curriculum that will help generate employment opportunities,” he said.
“Today, India not only has the potential to be the knowledge center of the world with the highest number of educated youth, but it is also the skills capital to move the country forward, which can be achieved by providing education on a global scale,” the doctor – said minister.
Sarkar said the National Education Policy 2020 will attract international students to make India a global hub and give autonomy to the faculty.
“There is a demand for it and the central government provides a forum to provide assistance to international students,” he added.
After the NEP 2020 came about, it brought about changes by putting together a flexible curriculum and education system to give the students a holistic education, he said.
Sarkar said that 49,000 students have recently come to India to study in our educational institutions and 10 lakh students have gone abroad. India is a popular destination especially for countries in SAARC and Africa, the union minister added.
“Today, India has a large number of skilled youth, we have a skilled workforce that can become the engine of world development,” said Sarkar, underlining that India is now on the cusp of internationalization of higher education, which makes it hearing from the best academics promotes research practices through interaction with the diverse educational system.
Referring to the inclusion of several Indian higher education institutions in international rankings, the minister said that globalization is one of the most transformative forces that have changed localization.
Bankura MP Sarkar said that Narendra Modi’s government was always ready to reform and transform and think about ideas in a positive way.
He said that as part of the globalization goal, prestigious Indian institutes are now setting up offshore campuses and one day India will become the global center of knowledge.
