The School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh has canceled summer vacation for the teachers of the government schools. The holidays began on May 1 and were to continue through June 9, but were canceled after an executive order on May 27. The decision comes in the wake of the Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission announcing the dates of the panchayat polls.
Government school teachers in the state are being deployed during the elections and the cancellation of the summer break is intended to step up preparations for the elections. The Madhya Pradesh poll had approached the school’s education department to cancel the summer vacation for teachers so that training could begin without delay.
