In 2019, she was unable to complete the preliminary round, the first stage of the UPSC exam.
After her studies, she worked as a trainee doctor at AIIMS Patna.
Millions of UPSC aspirants in India are currently devoting a significant amount of time and effort to preparing for one of the most challenging exams in the country. The achievements of successful candidates from previous years serve as a source of inspiration for these aspirants and motivate them to study even harder.
Seeking guidance from top performers is a common practice among applicants as they strive to improve their exam preparation. This is the story of Anshu Priya, an MBBS graduate, who embarked on a steady climb to success and reached her goal through unwavering determination.
Born in Munger district of Bihar, Anshu Priya had previously completed her MBBS degree. Her father is a professor and her family has a strong background in education, with both grandparents serving as teachers.
Anshu Priya completed her high school education at Notre Dame Academy Munger before joining AIIMS Patna to earn a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). After her studies, she worked as a trainee doctor at AIIMS Patna.
After graduating, Anshu Priya has worked in various hospitals and healthcare institutions. It was during her MBBS studies that she decided to pass the UPSC exam, but she failed her first two attempts. In 2019, she was unable to complete the preliminary round, the first stage of the UPSC exam. Likewise, her second attempt also ended in disappointment.
During several interviews, Anshu Priya revealed that she found her inspiration to become an IAS officer while completing her MBBS degree. Witnessing the lack of awareness about critical illnesses and the absence of a robust healthcare system, she recognized that making substantial changes from the grassroots level would require more than being a doctor.
In order to bring about the desired transformation, she realized how important it is to become a board official. On her third attempt at the UPSC exam, after the preliminary round, Anshu Priya devoted half of her time to revision and the remainder to taking mock exams.
In 2021, Anshu Priya achieved success in her third attempt at the UPSC exam, achieving an All India Rank (AIR) of 16. She paid close attention to her preparation and diligently competed in multiple test series. Her elective was Medical Sciences. Recently, Anshu Priya received her first posting as an IAS trainee officer in the city of Jodhpur, located in the state of Rajasthan.
