The National Testing Agency (NTA) has again postponed the medical entrance exam – NEET 2022. The application procedure, which was to end on May 6, was extended until May 15. The deadline has now been pushed back to May 20. There is a delay of about two weeks, but the exam date has not yet been changed. NEET 2022 is scheduled for July 17. Despite the fact that candidates want to postpone the exam until August.
The NTA claims the deadline has been pushed back to allow more time for aspiring undergraduate nurses to complete the form. Previously, the exam would only be conducted for MBBS and BDS courses. It has now expanded to nursing education as well. “d In light of the request received from the Office of the Director-General of the Armed Forces Medical Service, it has been decided to further extend the deadline for submitting the NEET (UG) application forms – 2022.”
As many as six Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) accept NEET scores. This includes the College of Nursing at AFMC Pune, CH Kolkata, INHS Mumbai, AH New Delhi, CH Lucknow and Bangalore. NEET 2022 will consist of 200 multiple choice questions; each with four options with a single correct answer. The exam will be divided into three sections: physics, chemistry and biology (botany and zoology). Each topic will have 50 questions that will be divided into two sections (A and B). The duration of the exam is 200 minutes (3 hours 20 minutes). The exam takes place from 2 p.m. to 5.20 p.m. In case of an incorrect answer, one number will be deducted in both sessions, according to the revised number scheme. To clear NEET, students must score a minimum of 50 percentile points.
Meanwhile, medical aspirants across India are requesting a postponement of the entrance examination. Students want the NEET UG 2022 to take place in August. After a series of online protests, some of the students have started an online petition asking for a postponement.
