The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG) counseling 2021 is scheduled to start from January 12. Minister of Health Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya had taken to Twitter to announce the same, but some students say the counseling, although as of Wednesday , is still delayed. The full counseling will take two to three months, students have pointed out that by the time the counseling is over, the third wave of Covid-19 may have already affected many doctors and residents.
The Supreme Court had allowed the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) to start the counseling process after the January 7 hearing regarding the quota limit of Rs 8 lakh for EWS seats in medical colleges. Because the NEET PG counseling had been delayed for months, students have been protesting for some time to start the counseling process for admission to PG medical courses.
