The Rajasthan Public Service Commission on November 18 released the final results of the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) examination. Among the talented candidates is Vishvendra Singh Gurjar, a resident of Khirkwas Brickkheda village in Bayana area of Bharatpur district. He is currently serving as a Lower Division Clerk (LDC) at the Cooperative Department in Beawar.
Vishvendra’s father, Tej Singh, works as a farmer, while his mother is a devoted homemaker. By securing 2011th rank in the exam, Vishvendra is now eligible for allied services. He said that despite his work commitments, he skillfully managed his time in late-night study sessions at the library, and enhanced his learning with online courses.
Vishvendra emphasized the crucial role of focusing on language papers, especially in the areas of current affairs and economics, as essential for success in the exam. He underlined the importance of regularly reading reputable publications to stay abreast of current affairs. He also advised judicious use of the internet during studies and highlighted the wealth of useful study content available on platforms such as YouTube and other social media.
The main exam, with 17,837 candidates, was concluded on August 30, 2022. Of these, 2,180 proceeded to the application rounds, which were conducted in seven phases. Once completed, this recruitment process will fill 363 open positions in the state service and 625 in the subordinate services.
RAS serves as the state-level government agency in Rajasthan. It is a state level entrance examination organized annually by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) to recruit candidates for various executive level positions in Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ within Rajasthan State Services and Subordinate Services. This comprehensive three-phase examination aims to appoint individuals to state cadres including but not limited to the Rajasthan Administrative Services, the Rajasthan Police Service, the Rajasthan Accounts Service, the Rajasthan Commercial Tax Service, the Rajasthan Excise Subordinate Service, among other crucial roll.
For RPSC RAS recruitment, candidates must possess a university degree and be in the age range of 21 to 40 years. Successful aspirants undergo a comprehensive two-year training program at the HCM Rajasthan Institute of Public Administration. After this initial training, RAS officers spend 25 to 30 years of service, during which they may be eligible for promotion to IAS officers or equivalent positions.
