According to sources, the state government is planning to launch special classes for 10th and 12th grade students on television and radio.
During the 2020-202 academic session, exams were canceled during the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
The West Bengal Education Department has no plans to change the schedule of upcoming offline board exams in the state. The officials hope the Covid-19 situation in the state will improve within three to four months when the board exams take place.
The class 12 exams for the 2021-22 academic year are scheduled between April 2 and April 20, while the class 10 exams will be held between March 7 and March 16.
According to sources, the state government is planning to launch special classes for 10th and 12th grade students on television and radio. As schools may remain closed due to Covid-19, radio and TV classes will be taught by qualified teachers from government schools. The students can also ask questions directly to teachers over the phone, they said.
Earlier, Chiranjib Bhattacharya, speaking to PTI news agency, chairman of the Council for Higher Secondary Education, said the exams will be conducted offline. “There is no plan to change the schedule from now on,” he said.
Kalyanmoy Ganguly, the chairman of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, said the council is not considering alternative evaluation criteria for the time being. He says that the board is busy arranging offline exams.
