Roberto Biddau, a 41-year-old doctor from Sassari, Sardinia, has shared a captivating video of the annual starling noise that graces the Italian sky. This enchanting phenomenon occurs around the same time every year, leaving Biddau and countless others in awe of nature's artistry.
Mr. Biddau's video, captured in November, provides a front-row seat to the synchronized ballet of thousands of starlings. Their coordinated movements, which form intricate patterns against the backdrop of the Italian sky, will leave you mesmerized.
“The birds meet in the city at sunset and rest in the trees,” he said The guard. “They migrate from north to south; in the fall they arrive in Sassari, and many people watch them.”

According to The guard, Although the precise reason behind starlings' murmuring remains a mystery, two leading theories suggest that it serves as a survival strategy. One suggests that these massive formations help the birds retain heat before going to sleep, while the other suggests that they maximize their chances of evading aerial predators.
Adding to the mystery is their remarkable ability to move in perfect synchronicity, like a single organism. A 2013 study found that each starling, in a complex coordination ballet, responds immediately to the movements of its six nearest neighbors, maintaining group cohesion.
