Many fitness challenges go viral time and time again. Now, videos of the shrimp cracking challenge are gaining popularity online. Although the exercise is not easy, many people try it to check their balance and flexibility. This particular exercise requires a person to perform a different type of single-leg squat. It involves holding the top of one foot behind you while you squat with the other. The exercise is known for targeting a number of key muscle groups, improving mobility, stability and balance. The squat is excellent for building muscle and flexibility in your body and helps heal lower body conditions.
A video of several people trying out the viral shrimp cracking challenge is making the rounds on social media and has been viewed more than six million times. In the short clip posted to X (formerly Twitter), we see about fifteen people attempting the challenge. However, only five people were able to complete it.

Since it was shared, many people took to the microblogging platform and shared clips of themselves trying out the challenge. Some were successful, others tried to do their best.
“There is a strength and balance problem here: people need to exercise more,” said one user.
“But who comes up with these challenges,” one person wrote.
A third added: “Sounds like the ultimate test of seafood skills! Enjoy the challenge, shrimp lover!”
“I just tried it, I almost broke my no…that's actually an incredible level of flexibility!” one person commented.
“I thought I could do this because I can squat deep and am somewhat fit, but it didn't work out. It's harder than it looks,” said another.
One user added: “This seems simple but it is very difficult”
“Both my knees would explode if I tried this,” one X user wrote.
