Patna:
Bihar's Kishanganj police on Sunday arrested four persons in connection with the gan grape case of a 30-year-old woman.
The suspect, identified as Sher Singh (55), Aakash Singh (27), Brijal Singh (30) and Shayamu Singh (25), allegedly kidnapped the woman from her house in Halim Chowk under Kishanganj police station on Saturday and taken in a Bolero camper. Later they assaulted her with a knife in a corn field.
After committing the crime, the suspect threatened her with dire consequences and fled from the spot in the van. The survivor reached home and narrated her ordeal.
“We received a complaint of gang rape. As the case was very sensitive, we immediately constituted a team to arrest the accused. The woman gave us the description of the accused and our team collected the information about them. They were traced to Mahalgaon village in Araria district. We immediately conducted a raid there and arrested them,” said Sagar Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kishanganj.
“We conducted the woman's medical examination at Sadar Hospital, which revealed rape. Accordingly, we registered an FIR under relevant sections of IPC 363, 366, 376D, 506 and 34 at the women police station on Saturday evening,” Mr said Kumar.
“The suspects are residents of Haridwar and Uttarakhand and live as nomads. They kidnapped the woman in their RV. We have also seized the vehicle,” the SP added.
