Srinagar:
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Sunday accused the Nationalist Congress Party of promoting dynastic politics, a day after NCP President Sharad Pawar appointed his daughter Supriya Sule as acting president.
“I will just say that as in the Shiv Sena, Uddhav ji himself became the CM and made his son a minister, the same is also happening in the NCP,” Mr. Shinde told a select group of reporters here in the Raj Bhavan. .
He called JK Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
“(Sharad) Pawar was president and made a working president in the family. This is an internal matter of their party, and I don’t need to interfere, but it just happened that way,” said Shinde.
When asked about his son and MP Shrikant Shinde’s comments that some local BJP leaders in Maharashtra engaged in selfish politics, the Maharashtra CM said it was a minor matter and the BJP has issued an explanation for it.
“It was a minor issue and it’s over now. The president of Maharashtra BJP, Chandrashekhar Bawankule has explained about it and I don’t feel it is necessary to say anything more about it,” Shinde said.
Asked for comment on the political situation in Maharashtra, Mr Shinde said that when he returns to his state there will be plenty of time to discuss it.
“I’m in Kashmir now. When I get back there, we’ll have a lot of time to discuss that. I met Manoj Sinha and we had good talks. I asked him to bring many tourists from Maharashtra here, and if we have some room for Maharashtra Bhawan, that will benefit the tourists,” said the Maharashtra CM.
