Thiruvananthapuram:
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan lashed out at the BJP on Monday over the arrest of AAP leader and Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, saying the central agencies were being used to intimidate the opposition parties and called it a attack on democracy.
Mr Vijayan said the Center was trying to destabilize opposition-ruled governments in the country and called it an attempt to divert attention from the issues of unemployment and economic crisis.
The arrest of @msisodia by CBI is another example of how @BJP4India misuses the agencies of the Union government to intimidate the opposition. It is a blatant abuse of power and an attack on democracy. Such repression undermines the foundation of our nation and must be fought.

“The arrest of @msisodia by CBI is another example of how @BJP4India is using Union government agencies to intimidate the opposition. It is a blatant abuse of power and an attack on democracy. Such repression undermines the very foundation of our nation and must be fought,” Mr Vijayan tweeted.
The CBI had arrested Mr Sisodia on Sunday in connection with alleged corruption in the now abolished excise policy.
“There is growing dissatisfaction among the people about unemployment and the economic crisis in the country. It seems that through arrests like this, the Union government is trying to divert attention from such important issues,” said the cabinet of the Chief Minister in a statement.
Vijayan urged the people to protest vigorously against attacks on the country’s constitution and democracy.
