Lucknow:
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that BJP was growing flowers using the bulldozers of the thorns planted during the time of the Samajwadi party.
“The task of growing flowers for the people of the state is carried out by bulldozing and roller-driving them at the same time as removing the thorns planted in your government,” said CM Yogi.
“From those who tend to grow thorns, flowers cannot be expected,” he added.
While discussing the budget in the assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath compared his six years in office as Chief Minister of UP to the SP government’s tenure.
“Before 2017, farmers committed suicide in the SP government, and sugar mills in the state were either closed or sold at throwaway prices. At that time, the state’s farmers committed suicide. Middlemen dominated crop procurement,” he said.
UP Chief Minister stated that the condition of farmers has improved under the current BJP government.
“There was a ban on selling the products in any other market for the farmers. The mandi fee was two percent, but today the ‘Annadata’ farmer is the top priority of the government. In the very first meeting, the program for loan forgiveness of Rs 36,000 crore continued which benefited 86 lakh farmers.Today, the contribution of agriculture to the GDP of the state is 26 percent while the rate of agricultural development has increased three times as compared to 2016-17,” said Mr Adityanath.
Mr. Adityanath further stated that there is no unnecessary spending under this government.
“Today, result-oriented work is done in the state through better coordination. Rs 1,234 crore was then spent on Saifai Mahotsav. On the other hand, only Rs 21 crore has been spent on the Investors Summit held recently,” he said.
The Uttar Pradesh Budget session is ongoing and will continue until March 10.
