New Delhi:
AAP lawmakers alleged in the Delhi Assembly on Monday that the BJP was trying to bring the national capital under President's rule after the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
AAP MLA from Kasturba Nagar Madan Lal, during a discussion on “attempts to unconstitutionally impose President's presidency in Delhi”, alleged that the BJP was trying to force Mr Kejriwal to resign after his arrest.
“An emergency-like situation has arisen in Delhi where the LG (VK Saxena) says he will not allow Mr Kejriwal to run the government from jail,” he said.

Mr Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in a money laundering case related to his government's now scrapped excise policy. He is in judicial custody until April 15.
Lal alleged that rumors about the President's rule were being spread in Delhi to intimidate the AAP.
Another AAP MLA, BS Joon, said some people are creating panic by claiming that the Delhi Assembly will be dissolved. He claimed that there was no constitutional crisis in Delhi.
Joon said the Delhi High Court has already dismissed PILs seeking the removal of the chief minister from his post.
AAP MLA from Model Town Akhilesh Pati Tripathi said that Mr Kejriwal was arrested in a “fake” case but the AAP will not succumb to the pressure from the BJP and he will continue as chief minister.
