Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that the BJP wants to build such an India which is rich and can lead the entire world in knowledge, science and spirituality.
Mr Singh, the BJP candidate from Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, also said that a crisis of confidence towards political leaders has arisen in independent India due to the difference between their actions and words.
“But I want to talk about the party I am a member of. We (BJP) have done what we promised. We have fulfilled every promise of our election manifesto, be it the promise to abolish Article 370 or the construction of the Ram Temple.” Mr Singh said this while addressing the 'Prabuddha Nagrik Sangoshthi' organized at a private school in Gomti Nagar here.
The sitting MP from Lucknow added that Ram Rajya will start in India when a sense of responsibility arises among people.
“If there is any sense of authority without responsibility, remember that Ram Rajya has not come and it is Kalyug,” Mr Singh said.
“I feel that compared to the past, people's sense of responsibility towards the country has grown today,” he added.
Calling himself a volunteer of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the Defense Minister said the Sangh never talked about Hindu-Muslim (religion).
He further said that the BJP is doing politics to build the country.
“We want to build such an India that is rich and at the same time can lead the entire world in knowledge, science and spirituality,” he said.
Mr Singh said that the BJP government has provided benefits of various schemes such as free gas cylinders, houses, tap water, etc. without any discrimination.
Mr Singh claimed that terrorism has been wiped out from the country which is becoming self-reliant in defense equipment production.
Lucknow goes to the polls on May 20 in the fifth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
