The report from the forensic science lab has confirmed that the charred bodies and the bloodstains found in the SUV found in a cow shed in Haryana’s Jind belong to Junaid and Nasir, a Rajasthan police officer said.
The bodies of the Bharatpur-based Rajasthan men, who were kidnapped, were found in a vehicle in Bhiwani district of Haryana on February 16. The families of the deceased claimed they were beaten and killed by members of the Bajrang Dal.
“The FSL (forensic science laboratory) report confirms that the charred bodies and the bloodstains in the SUV recovered from a Gau shala in Jind (Haryana) belonged to Nasir and Junaid,” said IG Gaurav Srivastav from Bharatpur.
He said the burned-out vehicle matched the chassis number, but the bodies left inside could not be identified.
The officer said FSL samples were collected at the scene. Blood samples were also taken from Nasir and Junaid’s relatives so that the bloodstains found in the SUV and the bones in the burned-out vehicle can be matched.
He said the report has now confirmed the identities of both bodies.
During the investigation, the SUV in which the victims were kidnapped and beaten was found in Jind. “Our teams are camping in Haryana and are working closely with Haryana Police to apprehend the suspect,” he added.
