The Rajasthan High Court has issued orders to yoga guru RamdevUnpleasantto appearon October 5 at Barmer Police Station in Chohtan for interrogation in connection with a FIR against him for allegedly hurtreligiousfeelingswhile it is extended stayon are to arrest.
The court directed RamdevUnpleasantto appearfor the Investigating Officer as and when called upon by him and also directed the Government Advocate Unpleasant submit the diary of the case to the court on October 16. It extended the stayonRamdev‘S to arrest until then.
Judge Kuldeep Mathur gave these directions on Monday during the hearing of a criminal miscellaneous petition Ramdev to pray for destroying the FIR.
“The petitioner is referred Unpleasantto appearfor the investigating officer for interrogation on 05.10.2023 at 11.30 am. The submitter will be referred further Unpleasantto appearfor the investigating officer when called upon by him for interrogation,” the order said.
The court had staysave the to arrest by Ramdev during the previous hearing and gave him instructions Unpleasantto appearfor the investigating officer for interrogation on or for May 20th. But he didn’t to appearfor the investigating officer.
The complaint was filed against the yoga guru at Chohtan police station in Barmer on February 5 by Pathai Khan for allegedly making comments against Muslims at a religious event in Barmer on February 2.
Chohtan police had subsequently arrested him on charges of inciting hatred and causing alarm religiousfeelings.
In his complaint, Khan alleged that Ramdev had made his comments “deliberately… so as to create a spirit of hostility and hatred foragainst Islam” and that they had “hurt the feelings of millions of Muslims.”
