New Delhi:
About 20 persons, including four children and 12 women, were rescued from a Ferris wheel after it suffered a technical problem at Ramlila Maidan in far north Delhi, Delhi Fire Brigade officials said.
There were no casualties in the incident, they said.
A video of the incident surfaced on social media platforms, showing several people trapped in the Ferris wheel while others tried to climb the swing to save them.
“A rescue call was received from Subhash Ramlila Maidan at 11.10 pm on Wednesday evening that more than 20 people were trapped on a giant swing,” a fire brigade official said on Thursday.
Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and 20 people – four men, 12 women and four children – were safely rescued from the swing, they said.
