Rajamahendravaram:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday he is seeking legal advice on how to return the money to poor people “looted” by corruption.
Referring to the seizure of “heaps of cash” by the Domestic Help Enforcement Directorate allegedly linked to a Jharkhand minister's secretary, Prime Minister Modi wondered why such persons were “close to the Congress's first family ”. “They have turned the workers' house into a corruption scandal. This is not the first time as a bigger seizure was also made earlier by an MP (in Jharkhand) and it was such a big cache that even machines got tired of counting goods.”
The Prime Minister was addressing a meeting in Vemagiri here, which was attended by TDP leader Nara Lokesh and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.
“Why are those from whom mountains of cash have been recovered close to Congress's first family? Was the seized cash meant for supplies somewhere, is it the case that the first family of Congress created warehouses of black money? knows about Congress Shehzada,” he said in an apparent joke to Rahul Gandhi.
PM Modi alleged that people in Congress and INDIA bloc are 'misusing' him when he 'captures' their black money. However, he was not concerned about the abuses, but about the poor, 'whose money these corrupt people have looted'. He further said, “Modi is taking legal advice.”
So far, the ED alone has attached property worth Rs 1.25 lakh crore and “if others” (central agencies) are involved, it could be more.
“I am seeking legal advice on how the money can be returned to those from whom it was looted,” he noted.
Rs 17,000 crore has already been returned to its rightful owners. “The rights of poor people will not be affected, this is Modi's guarantee,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi remembered the legendary actor-politician from the state, NT Ramarao, and said the former had taken Lord Ram to every household.
However, the Congress, seeking appeasement, boycotted the dedication of the Ayodhya Shri Ram Temple and dismissed from the organization the party leaders who visited the shrine.
Lashing out at the Congress and the ruling YSR Congress in the state, he said while the former has accepted defeat before the elections, the latter has been rejected by the people.
Corruption and land and liquor mafia are rampant in the YSRCP rule, he alleged.
The NDA will not only set a record in the Lok Sabha polls but will also form a government in Andhra Pradesh. He said the NDA will come to power in all states where assembly elections are held.
Elections to 25 Lok Sabha seats and 175 Assembly segments in Andhra Pradesh will take place on May 13.
