Several Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leaders and workers joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister and BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Sambalpur Dharmendra Pradhan.
Mr Pradhan said the members and leaders of other parties are joining the BJP as people's confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi is increasing.
“Odisha is moving towards change and that is why the people of BJD and other parties are joining the BJP as people's confidence in Prime Minister Modi is increasing in the BJP. Because local leadership is no longer 'local', 'local' leadership is needed.Darling' from the back door tries to conquer the house. People are angry with those who have not worked for the development of the state but have done corruption,” the Union minister said on Saturday.

Mr Pradhan also visited Pallahara constituency during his election campaign. During this time he also visited a tea stall, drank tea and interacted with locals.
It is noteworthy that Dharmendra Pradhan, the BJP candidate from Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency, is contesting the elections after a gap of 15 years. Sambalpur goes to the polls on May 25.
The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously in Odisha in four phases, starting with phase one on May 13, phase two on May 20, phase three on May 25 and the final phase on June 1. The results will be announced on June 4. .
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) got the maximum number of seats, followed by the BJP and Congress. The BJD won 12 seats, the BJP finished a close second with 8 seats and the Congress won only one seat.
