Ahead of the Munugode bypoll on November 3, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has had a setback with its senior leader and former MP from Bhongir, Dr. Boora Narsaiah Gold, who left the party. According to sources, he is likely to join the BJP.
In a three-page letter addressed to TRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), Dr. Gold that it had become more difficult to meet him even for a few minutes to bring people’s problems to the fore than to obtain a separate state of Telangana.
dr. Gold said that despite being a successful doctor, he had joined the fight for a separate state in Telangana in 2009, but recent developments regarding the Munugode bypoll had left him feeling the party was no longer able to support him. needed.
dr. Gold, who was responsible for party affairs at TRS in the Bhongir parliamentary constituency he previously represented, participated in the submission of nomination papers by TRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy on Thursday. Later that evening, he met BJP leaders in Delhi, sources add.
Gold blamed the infighting in the TRS for his narrow-margin defeat in the 2019 parliamentary election, saying he felt humiliated several times afterward.
He said that while he was grateful for the opportunity to contest the elections and serve the people, he was unwilling to become a “slave” and therefore quit.
dr. Gold added that it didn’t matter that he didn’t get a chance to challenge the upcoming survey, but he disapproved that a retarded caste didn’t get the chance. He said he was not consulted on the candidate’s choice, nor was he invited to the meetings held in his area.
Dr. Gold belongs to a community with a significant number of voters in Munugode.
Previously, he had been credited for several development projects in Telangana after becoming a Member of Parliament in 2014, including the establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and development work on the national highway.
