Mr Jaishankar invoked the Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing conflicts that necessitated diplomatic intervention to safeguard the lives of indigenous peoples in need. “We've seen it in Covid. An it in conflicts in Ukraine. We have seen it in Sudan. So Israel must also be prepared for these challenges in recent times.”

“We have to prepare for a world where things can go wrong. Statistically, they will go wrong. And we have to have a continued ability to respond and respond on very short notice. And you know, to create a government , to change, Some of us have worked in it. People work in their own departments, you know, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Defense does defence, the army does the army, the Ministry of the Interior does it. Ministry of Internal Affairs.' said Mr. Jaishankar.
“You know, within a few hours, when there was fighting in Sudan, our Navy and Air Force were there within 24 hours,” he said.

On India's ties with sectors, which cut across sectors and domains, the EAM pointed out that India did not have an embassy in Israel until 1992 and that no prime minister visited the country before Narendra Modi.
Claiming that the 'vote bank' has influenced India's foreign policy in recent years, Mr Jaishankar said: 'Just think of a country like Israel. People say everyone is the same, we should not create confidence in any discussion. Israel became independent in 1948. From 1948 to 1992 we chose not to have an ambassador and embassy in Israel. Why? From 1992 to 2017 when Narendra Modi went to Israel, no Prime Minister of India ever visited Israel about it and then tell me that faith has no bearing on our policies.
Highlighting the importance of abrogation of Article 370 in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Jaishankar said the then leadership had created a 'vote bank lobby' that kept the special provisions intact in the erstwhile state. He also emphasized that it was a 'temporary' provision and had to be terminated.
“Please understand the importance of what we have done with the abrogation of Article 370. We have corrected a huge mistake that we made in 1947. We created a lobby, we created a lobby for the vote banks, we created a lobby for Kashmir, there were people who were refereeing,” he said.
“I would like to show everyone in the Western press one page of the constitution called temporary provision. You know the meaning of the word temporary, it will come to an end. There is no one so blind as someone who does not want to see.” Mr Jaishankar added.
