New Delhi:
A social media post by a former Pakistani minister has sparked new tensions between the BJP and Congress. Ch Fawad Hussain's post contained excerpts from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's speech with the caption 'Rahul on fire', drawing sharp criticism from BJP leaders.
Amit Malviya, the BJP's IT cell chief, took to social media to question Congress's association with Pakistan, pointing to Hussain's previous role in Imran Khan's cabinet.
“Ch Fawad Hussain, who served in Imran Khan's cabinet as Information and Broadcasting Minister, is promoting Rahul Gandhi. Is Congress planning to contest elections in Pakistan?”
“From a manifesto with traces of the Muslim League to a loud statement of support from across the border, the Congress' conflict with Pakistan could not be clearer,” he added.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala echoed similar sentiments and accused the Congress of having a clear alliance with Pakistan.
“Congress ka haarah Pakistan ke saath,” Mr Poonawala wrote. “Earlier, Hafiz Saeed had said that Congress is his favorite party. Mani Aiyer went to Pakistan for support in ousting PM Modi! We remember that Pakistan Zindabad slogans were recently raised by Congress leaders and BK Hariprasad openly fought for Pak. Time and again, Congress leaders also defended Pakistani terrorists.”
