Jaipur:
Rajasthan minister Rajendra Singh Gudha, who has been charged with criminal harassment and kidnapping over a property dispute with a man from his constituency, has contacted Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot and says he is involved in a false case.
An FIR was registered against the Rajasthan State Minister for Sainik Welfare and Panchayati, and others, for allegedly kidnapping Durga Singh, a ward panchayat member from Kakrana in Sikar district, and taking a blank bank check from him.
The minister said that this FIR could not have been registered against him without the knowledge of the Chief Minister.
“The Home Office is with the CM. It is not possible for a case to be registered against a minister and the Prime Minister is not notified. A false case should not be registered. I will meet (CM) in person and ask what you are trying to do.” proof?” Mr Gudha told reporters.
Mr. Gudha is an MLA, formerly from the Bahujan Samaj Party, who then moved to Congress. He seems to have changed allegiances lately and has spoken out in favor of Sachin Pilot, who is involved in a power struggle with Mr. Gehlot. Mr Gudha has claimed that he is being targeted for speaking out in favor of Mr Pilot.
The Chief Minister’s office has so far not commented on Rajendra Gudha’s outburst.
The case has been turned over to the Crime Branch, Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) for investigation.
In his complaint, victim Durga Singh has accused the minister of abusing him on the phone in the last week of January over a real estate transaction. He said the minister threatened him, forcibly removed him from his home and tried to get him to sign a blank cheque.
The minister, in turn, has accused Durga Singh of cheating on a woman in his constituency.
