A tea seller played a good samaritan by directing traffic on a flooded road amid heavy rains in the Madhya Pradesh town of Indore.
A photo of the tea seller getting soaked while sitting on a bench in an open manhole is going viral on social media, with netizens praising his selfless act while criticizing the Indore Municipal Corporation.
The incident took place yesterday as heavy rains battered the city and left the roads soggy.
Speaking to PTI today, Rahul, who runs a tea stall in the Bhamori area of the city, said: “Due to heavy rains, water poured onto the road in front of my shop from three sides and many passing vehicles got stuck and had pushed out. become.”
Rahul said he opened the lid of a manhole on the road to drain the water and put a bench over it. “I sat on the bench directing traffic to make sure no one fell into the pit and was injured by the torrential rain,” he said.
It took nearly two hours for the accumulated water to drain out of the road, the tea seller said, noting that no municipal staff had reached the spot.
