There have been numerous cases of passengers complaining about the railway services and food. This time, however, a railway official took to social media to express his disapproval over the misuse of railway property by a particular passenger. Mr Ananth Rupanagudi took to the microblogging platform and commented on a picture of a man sleeping with his feet on the snack train of the Vande Bharat Express train.
A user, who goes by Namma Kovai, took to question the lack of basic facilities. travel etiquette. “Chennai Vande Bharat. Such actions are not only disrespectful, but also set a negative example for the wider community. Placing your feet on surfaces intended for dining is unsanitary and shows a lack of basic etiquette,” he wrote alongside the image. The image appears to be a screenshot taken from the link to a YouTube video shared by the user.
The railway official took note of this and expressed his disapproval. Mr Rupanagudi said people should travel responsibly and use the services for which they are intended. “Please use the fixtures for their intended purpose. They are made for you with your money and therefore you have a responsibility towards those fixtures. And these trains are built at a significant cost. Please travel responsibly. #VandeBharat,” he said on the microblogging platform.

Since the post was shared, it has been viewed 30,000 times and received several comments.
“Decencies in public and civil terms – may take a few more decades!” said one user.
“The day all citizens start thinking about our duty and responsibility, it will be a great day for atmanirbhar bharat,” said one.
A third person suggested, “Start punishing with a fine of Rs. 5,000, then everyone will be careful.”
“Very disrespectful to the country's resources, indeed. Such people should be held accountable,” said one user.
However, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. In November, Ananth Rupanagudi shared a photo of two children sitting on a snack tray on the Vande Bharat Express train, while their parents sat in front of them. In a post, he wrote, “One of the major reasons for breakage of snack trays or defective snack trays in #VandeBharat and other trains! Even with photographic evidence, whiners would say I'm passing the blame solely on the passengers! #IndianRailways #Responsibility #passengers.”
