Q: How do you manage your private life and your professional life?
Answer: Hmmm… Well, I’m not sure… I mean, that’s a question I ask myself quite often. Am I okay? am I okay? I can’t tell you I’ve got it all done because the truth is I go to work, I miss the kids and when I’m with kids I miss work! In fact, I hate the thought of my boys being neglected! I try to collect as many memories with them as possible before they fly out of the nest!
Q: Do you think work life will change after having children? Is there a downside?
Answer: So much has changed when I was with my parents. I had a short screen life of 18 months, but was totally carefree! Or even after I got married, I took on all kinds of work – took on as many projects as I could, knowing that everything is taken care of at home! I have a hugely supportive husband, so I never had to think twice before committing. But after kids, I worked around their schedule. It becomes extremely difficult because you are in a catch22 situation. You want to avoid long commitments, but that’s the least you can do for a meaty roll.
I am not AB, production houses do not want (and are not allowed) to meet such needs! So I’m taking it easy and hoping to grab small but impactful pieces.
Downside: Having kids can’t be categorized under “downside” never – it’s a blessing – yes can be a bit challenging but not a downside at all! I started looking at the world differently! They brought in so many shades. I have so much to explore now as an actor.
Q: What keeps you calm in the chaotic schedule?
Answer: Hahahaah I’m anything but calm. I’m known as Ms. RedBull – I don’t have a chill! I’m always on the go! Just to answer your question, I think my little one has a magical hug – it instantly puts me in a meditative state! My Zen!
Q: What’s your fitness manta?
Answer: Like to walk. Love to dance. Started doing asana at age 8-9. Was quietly fine with flat and hurdle races – later got to karate which I thoroughly enjoyed! I like doing weights, not good at dieting, so I’m completely dependent on my workout routine to stay healthy.
How do you prioritize your personal and professional life?
The truth is that I have prioritized my boys over everything, so every mother knows the work situation that they often don’t show up or extend their chhuttis.
A few times I had to take them outside, but that wasn’t good for them, so also since the time Wolfie came in, I’ve become extremely picky with my work.
