HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELON MUSK: SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk, is arguably the most popular tech billionaire. Not only because he is a pioneering business tycoon, but also a recurring face in pop culture. Best part? Musk is never afraid to share his take on memes, an important part of contemporary pop culture.
Overseeing a magnanimous empire makes you wonder how he gets time for his other shenanigans, but Musk, without fail, surprises us all. He has been a part of many popular shows and movies and contributed to them with his cameos. Now that Musk turns 51, let’s take a look at his pop culture and acting cameo appearances.
- Iron Man 2
Musk is a true Iron Man and rightly so, gave a cameo in the second installment in the Iron Man franchise. In fact, Tony Stark’s character is inspired by Musk. He reportedly loaned the Space X facility to shoot several scenes for the film. - The Simpsons
Musk was added to the list of impressive guests of the very popular show and appeared on the 26th season of The Simpsons. In the episode titled Musk Who Fell to Earth, Musk lands his Dragon 2 spacecraft in the Simpsons’ backyard. - big bang theory
A brief cameo from Musk was also part of the show which offered a unique combination of science and humor. Musk shared the screen of the show Big Bang Theory with one of the characters named Howard Wolowitz. - South Park
Musk appeared several times in this hilarious animated show in seasons 18 and 20. The show features four, too-real, kids Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny. In the episode Handicar, Musk participates in Wacky Races and drives his Tesla D. - Young Sheldon
Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the sitcom Big Bang Theory, tells the story of Sheldon Cooper, when he was an unusual but genius boy. Musk appeared in an episode titled A Patch, a Modem, and a Zantac, where it shows how Musk got the idea of a reusable, landing rocket from young Sheldon’s notebook. - Rick and Morty
A mind-boggling creation by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, Rick and Morty also had a cameo from Musk. In Season 4, he starred as Musk from an alternate universe. He appeared on the show as ‘Elon Tusk’ and had a pair of tusks that justified the name. - Why he?
This 2016 film featured Bryan Cranston, James Franco and Jonah Hill, among others. Musk appeared in the film as a man who met Bryan’s character, Ned Fleming, at the bar. He is introduced in the film as ‘Tesla’s Elon Musk’.
