Parineeti Chopra’s custom-made kaliras represented a moment of serendipity.
Speaking to News18, Mrinalini Chandra said that it took three months to make Parineeti’s kaliras.
The golden bride, Parineeti Chopra, added a personal touch to her beautiful kaliras designed by Mrinalini Chandra. Mrinalini, who has designed for Bollywood brides like Alia Bhatt, is known for celebrating the bride’s journey of love in the form of personalized motifs and designs.
From the gold kaliras with personalized elements that dangle carelessly from the bangle to the pale pink chadhas that add a pop of color to Parineeti’s opulent gold ensemble and the stunning lehenga latkans are designed to perfection, making it memorable for Parineeti.
When News18 contacted Mrinalini, she said it took her three months to design the custom-made kaliras, chadhas and lehenga latkans. Calling it an absolute pleasure to work with Parineeti, Mrinalini said, “It was an absolute pleasure creating custom kaliras for Parineeti. Her impeccable taste and sharp eye made the creative process a real pleasure for us. We were inspired by her vision and honored to bring it to life in the most special way. Her vibrant energy and trust in us made this a very special journey, and I am excited to share how each motif unfolds.”
With attention to detail, the kaliras have beautifully captured Parineeti’s journey with Raghav. From personalized elements including Parineeti’s initials and Raghav’s name, Om, a double-decker bus, an airplane, a cupcake, telephone booth, gramophone, among others. The custom motifs inspired by her love story were also added to the lehenga latkans.
According to Mrinalini, the story of Parineeti and Raghav is truly a modern fairy tale, the most organic and beautiful coming together of two worlds that are far apart yet equally complex. “She chose every element and made sure they symbolized her journey with Raghav in the most loving way,” adds Mrinalini.
She further adds, “At first glance, the Kalira appears to be dainty ornaments falling from the bracelet. However, its true beauty lies in the underlying story it conveys: a story about love. The design of these kaliras is very special. Each motif represents a moment of serendipity, a chance encounter when their paths crossed in a cosmic dance.”
Mrinalini has also adapted the classic set of chahoodas in beautiful pastel pink and paired it with kundan and pearl encrusted bangles on the sides. Mrinalini also thanked celebrity stylists Nidhi Agarwal and Shraddha Lakhani for their faith in her. She also complimented Manish Malhotra and addressed him as an absolute genius.
