Shahzeen Shivdasani, relationship expert, Bumble shares advice for your holiday crush:
- Give your connection Brightness on your dating intentions
Be clear about what you are looking for from the start. This prevents misunderstandings and ensures that you are both on the same page. - Bring back the travel bio
Updating your biography each time you travel to a new city or country can be a helpful way to attract the people and experiences you seek. You can do this by adding your travel plans to your Bumble profile bio or by adding the languages you speak. By ending with a question about your vacation destination, you add a great conversation starter. - Be open to other ideas
When you meet a potential date, you normally have a mental checklist of what you’re looking for. Be open to possibilities while traveling. Just as you may be more open to new foods or activities, apply that same attitude when you’re away from home when using Bumble. Adjust your date filters – maybe your age range, or the type of relationship you’re looking for – to be a little more flexible. Who knows what could happen. - Put your safety first
You can use the app’s video chat or voice calling features to get to know your connection better before meeting up or finalizing your plans. - Clear communication
Make your intentions clear from the start. Be upfront with your connections if you’re looking for something casual while traveling. When it comes to holiday romance, manage your own expectations too, maybe both of you can transform your holiday romance into something more, you never know! Be sure to make the most of it while it lasts! - Enjoy the moment
Enjoy the time you have together. Avoid putting undue pressure, if you embark on your travel vacation romance while being aware of the inevitable end, it will help you handle the situation better.
